The finest rowing boats

The grace of an Adirondack guideboat gliding across pristine waters is, for many, the most sublime response we can offer to the beauty of nature. 100 years before most of us were born, Adirondack guideboats were employed for the daily use of commerce, transportation and the simple chore of putting food on the table. Lovely, graceful, seaworthy, brilliant...poetical shapes built for speed, beauty and ease of carry.

"A Stradivarius of a boat" .........one pull on the long, graceful oars and it was like dancing again with a long-lost love."

Elegant and timeless, our boats soothe the soul and delight the spirit.

And now, with the advent of modern materials, fiberglass, Kevlar and composite resins, we are able to offer rowing boats of similar quality and grace, similar rowing experiences, at a fraction of the cost.

Most of our customers use their boats for pleasure rowing, simply messing about on the water. Some use their boats for fishing, for playing around with children or grandchildren or as part of an exercise program. Some of our customers compete in open-water rowing races....even open-ocean races.

Our Vermont Packboat is popular with those who want a light-weight, sea-worthy boat. The similarly shaped but much larger Vermont Fishing Dory is popular with those who more carrying capacity. And, of course, there's the classic Adirondack Guideboat, in cedar or Kevlar/glass composite.

We also offer a sailing rig which, with just a few modifications, can be added to any of our boats. In this photo the sailing rig is attached to our Vermont Fishing Dory....the boat on which it probably works best, due to the boat's size and shape.
