Kids & Boats - Boats & Kids

Often, when people start talking about boats...they are talking about their childhood. About Grandpa and the cabin, about their first fish, about the time they tried to pull away from the dock and forgot to untie the line.

Children are a large part of what attracted us to boats. For many of our customers, going out and messing on the water with children is why they are buying a boat in the first place. That we get to facilitate such activities is a deep source of pleasure for us.

Parents quickly relax when they see how secure their children are in our boats. The mechanics of rowing are easier than the mechanics of paddling.  With oars attached, pulling evenly on both sides, there's no switching the paddle from side to side to keep the boat going straight. We've seen a 4-year-old boy (yes, the 4 year old boy above, David's son, Joshua) easily row a boat in which 2 adults were sitting.

Except for the photo above (in which the boat is on dry land) every child we have ever put in a boat has worn a lifejacket. This isn't something we do for the cameras.  Good lifejackets, properly fit  and securely attached are rules we follow 100 per cent of the time. You should too. We don’t think anyone has ever been injured in one of our boats…and we don’t want you or your children to be first!
